Individual Life Experience Study - The Society of Actuaries Individual Life Experience Study (ILEC) has completed its data call of the 2004-2005 experience data. The recent publication of 2002-2004 ILEC experience has permitted analysis and data validation to begin on data gathered that reflects the experience between 2004-2005 anniversaries.
Preferred Mortality Experience Study - A joint Project Oversight Group comprised of volunteers from the Society of Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries is examining numerous issues with regard to the level of mortality and the sensitivity of mortality findings for preferred-class life insurance policies. This investigation uses innovative techniques, and relies on the data gathered for the recently-published 2002-2004 Individual Life Experience Committee mortality study.
Individual Payout Annuity Experience - The Society of Actuaries (SOA) Individual Annuity Experience Committee (IAEC) is examining preliminary results, and data validation continues for an analysis of mortality experience for annuities in the payout phase, for the period 2000-2004.
Structured Settlements Annuity Experience - The IAEC is also updating the 1999 Structured Settlements mortality study. This study spans 2000-2004, and was combined with the Individual Payout Annuity Experience study for simplified data contribution. The data call has been completed, and validation and analysis are underway.
Deferred Annuity Experience Study - An update to the Deferred Annuity Experience Study using data compiled by LIMRA.
Long-Term Care Experience - This study adds three more years of experience (2002-2004) to the cumulative database of LTC experience. Analysis is being developed to examine persistency, mortality and claim duration.
Long-Term Care Valuation - A LTC Valuation working group of the SOA has undertaken to develop analysis that will leverage the LTC experience database for use in model construction that would permit creation of a new valuation method for LTC liabilities for insurance carriers. MIB Solutions' analysts are working to define the correct business rules and specifications.
Impairment Study Capture System (ISCS) - A major initiative is underway regarding the industry support of and participation in supplying the ISCS with relevant data to ensure that this valuable data resource is maintained appropriately. A study of Cardiac cases among insurance policyholders is currently underway, along with the forthcoming publication of industry mortality experience among insureds underwritten with aviation activity or hazardous sports avocations.

Mortality Guarantee in Variable Products Experience Study - This project examines mortality experience during the deferred period under variable annuities and other contracts with similar benefits. This will examine experience relative to the MGDB Valuation Table. This is a pilot study project under Committee for Life Insurance Research - Bob Johansen (Researcher).
