Cradles to Crayons - September 2009

Cradles for Crayons

The MIB Associates joined other United Way volunteers and worked in the Toy World area sorting and inspecting all donated toys to make sure they are perfect - all puzzles are counted piece by piece to ensure nothing is missing, dolls are matched with outfits and accessories, batteries are inspected, etc.  All perfect toys are then cleaned and placed on the “good-to-go” shelves. They processed about 120 toys for distribution and had a great time.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth - August 2009

On Tuesday, August 18, 2009, a hardy group of MIB volunteers braved the scorching heat to help Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth with landscaping a soon-to-be-finished affordable home in Kingston, MA. With rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and huge hearts, the crew worked on cleaning the fill which had been sitting in a pile behind the house for 15 months. Weeds, rocks, and tree roots were all removed and the ground leveled all around the house. They did an outstanding job in less than ideal conditions on the hottest day of the summer so far. And, they had fun doing it.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth - June 2009

MIB Associates painted the interior of a house under construction by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth in Kingston, MA. As our CEO commented, "we entered a construction site in the morning and left a home in the afternoon." We plan on returning in the fall to help landscape the property. This home is special - it is a Habitat for Humanity Women Build home and is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental design) certified.
